Owner Evie Peterson mans the ship while working alongside her team. Evie’s culinary and entrepreneurship journeys began in high school and continued to progress as Farmhouse Catering officially took shape in 2005 after training under a chef and becoming a chef herself. In 2014, Evie’s dream of owning her own venue finally came true! Gatherings is an extension of her home and everyone who comes to Gatherings is welcome as family. She is extremely active in the Nevada community through her businesses, involvement on the Main Street board, and her children’s activities. She enjoys home renovation projects, decorating, gardening, and camping when not wrangling her five children who range in age from 4-22 years.

Bre Taege is our Event Specialist and one of the key members of our team. Born and raised in Ames, Bre brings her solid knowledge of Central Iowa, catering, management experience  and incredible hospitality to her position with Farmhouse Catering and Gatherings Event Venue. You can find Kristin in the kitchen creating delicious meals as one of our Chefs.  With a degree in Culinary Arts & Hotel Restaurant Management and over 20 years cooking experience, Kristin understands and loves to help make the day special by creating flavorful homemade meals.  She loves spending her time going on bike rides with her family in Nevada where they have lived for the last 10 years and she loves working with her plants.
